MapIT ….. Maps to meet your every need

Celine Ikioda - General Manager MapIT Nigeria Limited
Picture this scenario: You are late for an important appointment and you’ve lost your way. Everyone you ask is sure they’ve heard of that street but have no idea where it is at that particular moment. Sounds familiar? Well, help is at hand according to the GM of MapIT, Celine Ikioda.
From June 2006 Nigerians will be able to see Maps in action as MapIT Nigeria will introduce into the market Street level maps in electronic and print forms. In conjunction with Garmap, MapIT will also introduce GPS Navigation systems which are easy to use and provide turn-by-turn audio directions. This will ensure that Nigerians will be able to find their destinations easily.
The navigation system uses global positioning system (GPS) technology to route and re-route, if necessary, users from A to B."GPS technology provides a ground position via the use of a satellite," says GM Celine Ikioda. "As the driver or pedestrian moves, the GPS is continually tracked by the satellite to provide an ongoing point of reference for the routing device."
MapIT is the premier producer and distributor of maps in Nigeria. They are able to license Mapsets of Nigeria for the following applications: Telecommunications, Fleet & Logistics Management, Location Based Services, Navigation, Vehicle & Asset Tracking, Web Services, Business Planning and Market Intelligence, Call Centers and a host of other applications.
MapIT also publishes a range of wall maps, atlases, street guides as well as educational maps and globes.
